The Stair Steps Of My Garden Poem by Marilyn Lott

The Stair Steps Of My Garden

I think of my garden as stair steps
I will explain to you why
It starts in early springtime
Except for one, I don't know why.

The Primroses seem to keep blooming
All through winter - yes it is true
Then I see the yellow of the Daffodils
Oh lord, you probably see them too.

They get us prepared for summer
But also we look about the beds
Oh my gosh, look at the weeds
I would rather have flowers instead.

I have tons of basket of gold in April
White Stellaria Holostea pops up too
And all my flowering bushes
Would be perfect, my friend, for you.

Little groundcover like purple Violets
Iris and Grape Hyacinths so lovely
Groundcovers always have such charm
My Cora Bell bells are just precious to me.

As summer travels through time
More colors my treasures will send
Each year I look so forward to
The stair steps of my garden.
