And Sending Up Their Dreams
there in the paintings the shade on the snows impasto
of the blue and rose, or the marigold
has won my heart over
and so I go to sleep thinking of the snow colours
the tints of surprise
as if the snows fell in a flower garden
with all the flowers in their winter underground
and sending up their dreams.
